This hottie top is sexy, very comfortable and I am making them Made to Order! Please see our “Made to Order” instruction HERE. Working to be zero waste with this line is pretty easy- the material is satisfying to work with and take care of. We use bamboo rayon yardage to create our Athena dresses and skirts here at RP. We use the scraps and cutoff salvage edges to make smaller items and create the braiding you see in our work across multiple collections- it’s a useful meditation in waste reduction.
This top is new to our Athena line and this is the first time it is offered and our first online made to order collection. We have never used this material for this pattern but decided a soft relaxed double-layered execution would be satisfying and functional. The wrap-around braids secure the underbust and create sexy chaos with the back. This is the first round, gotta see how it fits on other people, test drive! I modeled these and I love them, I kept one, and gifted one.
We use real copper wire to coil the ends of the braids and accents, antique brass studs for connection security and accents, wrap around braiding to uniquify our pieces. They are hand-dyed and should be washed on cold and dryer on low heat.

Dance life and workout top, soft, sensual, crop top. My work out top/bra. I was always inventive with my wardrobe and this design stems from one of them. As a youngster, I played soccer like it was my job. Sports bras were a way of life, it was a good one if it left 1/4 mark in your skin after you took it off. It was a shield and padding for the ball. I took great pride in my small collection of effective gear. So this lead to the off-field need for serious comfort and support and an underwire push-up bra (90s fast fashion lingerie was pinging high) was not exactly what I was looking for. You might want to try this- I worked at K-mart in high school for a few months and always had to put stuff back- was in the kid’s section and saw a popped open Haynes 3 pack of youth size medium white undershirts – they looked so comfy- I bought them and started to wear them as bras- super thin, tight and very iconic. I ended up tearing a V in the curved neckline and I still have a 3 set to this day.
Over time as I was on the field no longer, I started adapting my wardrobe to be ultimately comfy. I started to experiment with different fabrics mimicking the same simple design- inspired by something that was useful because its use relative to me changed it.
